Pastors Mickel &Grace McKinley
Mickel D. McKinley was born in Peoria, Illinois in 1968, and at an early age his family moved to Battle Creek, Michigan, where he graduated high school and began his journey of life. Pastor McKinley joined the United States Marine Corps at the age of 18 in 1987.
During the first Gulf War Campaign (Desert Shield/Desert Storm) of the early 1990's, Pastor McKinley received visions from God of his calling to the ministry. However, it wasn't until he left the Marines and moved to Seattle, Washington in April of 1992 that he realized and accepted the urgency of the call. He met the love of his life, Grace L. McKinley, less than three weeks after he moved to Seattle and they were married a year later on February 14, 1993. To this union there are 5 children, Dont`e, Mickela, Yolanda, Mickel Jr., and Marcus.
Pastor Mickel preached his first sermon in April of 1993, at the young age of 25. He was ordained on May 14, 1995. Pastor Mickel joined the Beacon Hill 1st Baptist Church of Seattle, where he attended United Theological Seminary and Bible College. During his Seminary Training, Pastor Mickel studied Marriage and Family Counseling. He then spent 8 years at Second Baptist Church of Santa Ana, Ca. as an Associate Minister on staff. Pastor Mickel is a Faith-Based minister and if he were to say what is "style" like he would probably say Fred Price in some ways.
Co-Pastor Grace McKinley has been called to serve along side her husband. She was born in Seattle, Washington. She attended Seattle Pacific University, a Christian University, where she majored in Communications and minored in Christian Education. She is a mother, friend and counselor to many. She is an ordained Co-Pastor and teacher of the Word of God. Her life journey is to nature and care for her family, serve God and His people. She is the Director of GLOW of God (Gifted Ladies of the Word of God) Unity Conferences founded in October 2005 which hosts hundreds of women annually from all over the Las Vegas valley.
In Dec. of 2004, Pastor Mickel & Grace McKinley founded the Solid Rock Christian Church. Located just south of the infamous Las Vegas Strip in Las Vegas, Nevada. Solid Rock was established as a ministry motivated by the Spirit of God to reconcile men, women and children to the original purpose of Praise, Worship and Evangelism. Solid Rock is a Non-Denominational Church & the goal for Solid Rock is to be a community-focused multicultural, multigenerational, bible-based church "A Place of Refuge" for the people. The pastors of Solid Rock consider it a privilege to make themselves available to the community & dedicate themselves to the life of ministry work.
