Yesterday we started the fast, I must say that I was concerned with the success of this at first...But I know it was the enemy giving me the reservations, so I immediately rebuked those concerns in the name of Jesus....Yesterday for dinner my family sat down to red beans....It was wonderful. This morning I am making oatmeal w/honey. I know that the Lord has something great prepared for us all individually and corporately.

That's good news!! the devil will not win this one. We love oatmeal with honey, raisins and cinnamon (optional apples and bananas). Veggie burgers are working out really well for us too! We had baked potato with Salsa, black beans and or vegetables on top. Blessings everyone, keep up the good work and don't forget to call your prayer partners.

So far the fast has been working out great for myself and my family it has been so exciting watching my children paying closer attention to the things that they have been eating these last couple of days. Together we have been creating several new menu items and that alone has been great. I must also say that I myself have been noticing a few life changing things in my own life and I intend to press on and finish this fast with flying colors

WOW! I have never done a Daniels fast before. Fasted b4 but no food. that is hard. This is fasting while eating sensibly. Doing alot better than I thought I would. This has really gotten me back to the bible on a regular basis. I think an occasional corporate Daniels Fast wouldnt hurt any of us. speaking only for myself. blessings to all that are involvd.

Today is the 3rd day of the fast. Glory be to God. This is the 1st time I've fasted and I can say when you are in the will of God and seeking answers from him, you will be spoken to. In this short time I have been shown so many things that are not pleasing to my Savior and these things that I thought were "little" issues are actually huge to my Lord Jesus Christ.Through Christ who strengthens me, I can do all things. So I accept this Spiritual growth in the name of Jesus

So some are the kids are done and some want to keep going!! this is so amazing. Sharing meals and experiencing new menu items has been so awesome. I struggle when I'm rushing in the morning and I don't pack well. Thank-God I left close to home and I can go get my salad! Keep drinking a gallon of water a day everyone as we are also flushing all those toxins out from the other food. Praying for everyone and I love what God is doing for us and through us! Remember the Godz Girlz scripture Jer 29:11 God knows the plans He has for us. Don't give up

The weekend is fast approaching, pray pray pray and stay strong. Today was okay for me, I didn't break fast; but I barely ate. Which can be a set-up for hunger the next day. I am thank-ful for the strength God has given to me and all of you as well. I know we can do this, break through is on the way!! Don't forget to pray at 1pm, it will be a blessing if we do it together. I know it seems like a lot of praying - twice a day as best as possible with pray partners, daily at 1pm corporately and your individual prayer time. But we can never pray too much and during fasting we need a great deal of it. luv ya'll

We are excited about what will occur over these next 7 days and we are looking forward to see God move in our lives and in the life of this church. We know that He will work in ways we could never have imagined and the cool thing is we're taking this journey together! Side by side, let's go the distance to discover God's plan. We wish you all of God's best during this time!

Fasting Guidelines

Our Focus
The fast, as explained in the bible study, is a spiritual discipline designed to better connect us with God. As a church, we are fasting in order to deepen our relationship with God and to walk in step with His plan and purpose. The best way to do this is to redirect our food source. This is accomplished through substituting our regular food intake with Bible reading, praying and journaling. The overall goal is to experience a genuine hunger for spending time with God.

Our Corporate Prayer time is Daily @ 1pm and twice daily with your prayer partners as assigned at bible study or already connected with a SRCC member

Our Fasting Timeline: Sept 21 - Sept 27.

Sunday: Begin the "Daniel Fast" by introducing meals with pure foods of fruits and vegetables. This plan will continue for the next 7 days and longer if you choose to.

Sunday Sept 27: The fast is complete. Start slowly introducing food previously denied if desired. (don't rush too soon to a Big Mac and fries)

Wednesday, Sept 30th: Celebrate "Potluck" Style with a renewed sense of God's presence.

Sunday October 4th Morning Worship: We will come together as a church to celebrate communion at Solid Rock Church.

Questions???

http://danielfast.wordpress.com/

Do you have questions about specific foods?
The list of foods we've provided is merely a first step to get you thinking about making better food choices. Remember, this fast is about growing your relationship with God. He's not as concerned about what is in your stomach as He is about what is in your heart.

Daniel's decision not to eat the king's food was an outward symbol of an inward commitment he had made to God. (see: Daniel 1) Let your choices over the next three weeks reflect the hunger your have for God's presence in your life.

Since there is no definitive list of foods for the Daniel Diet, it is truly the spirit of Daniel's decision that we are imitating over the next 7 days. If there is something that is not specifically listed that you think still qualifies as a ?food of the king,' then ask God to reveal to you whether it should be part of your diet over the next few weeks. The details of the fast are between you and God ? use this time to focus on Him.

God is certain to bless your life in new and exciting ways during the fast. We encourage you to write down your prayers and the many ways God reveals Himself to you. We can't wait to see what God is going to do in your life and in the life of our church!

What about children?
We have eliminated sugar, bread and most dairy from our children's diet. They are having whole wheat pasta and soy milk. Mostly, they eat what we eat, but we have included chicken for them in some meals. We have found that they have been more open to new foods. It has been exciting to see them help plan meals and enjoy more fruits and vegetables, some of which they have never tried before. We remind them that when they are hungry, they will try something new. Remember, all of us can change our palates in 10 days! But they are only fasting for 3!

Important.

If you have any known medical conditions or suspect such conditions, consult your doctor before beginning the fast. Also, be sure to drink as much water as possible throughout the fast. In fact, our goal is to drink a gallon plus of water a day!

If you have any condition which would prohibit you from being a part of the Daniel Fast, there are other options. Choose something from your daily routine (i.e. specific foods or beverages, television, other technology, etc.) and fast in that manner for the next 7 days.

Remember, the details are not as important
